The Alan Blizzard Award

An Award for Collaborative Projects that Improve Student Learning

The Alan Blizzard Award was developed by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education to stimulate and reward collaboration in teaching, and to encourage and disseminate the scholarship of teaching. The Award is given to collaborative projects that increase the effectiveness of student learning. Created on his retirement, the Award honours Alan Blizzard for his significant contributions to university teaching and learning as past President of the Society from 1987 to 1997. Alan was also the Director of Centre for Leadership in Learning (formerly Instructional Development Centre from 1979 to 1996.
