The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) are the ISO-recognized criteria for creating accessible web content referenced in the AODA information and communications standard. In this hybrid (in-person and online) workshop, we will discuss the guidelines relevant to the materials you teach with and practice how to apply them in Avenue to create more accessible course content.
The first in a three-part series on accessible practices for Avenue course development.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Create web content directly within your Avenue course
- Apply the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) to content creation
- Identify web accessibility errors in your course shell

Event Format: Hybrid, this workshop will be held in person in the MacPherson Institute Classroom (Mills Library, L508/509) and online via Zoom (details provided upon registration)
Audience: McMaster Community
Requirements: Participants should have access to an Avenue sandbox course shell, as the workshop will be hands-on; if you do not have one, please request at least 2-3 business days in advance of the workshop
