To support Faculties, Departments and programs in bringing educators together to share ideas and experiences in teaching and learning, the MacPherson Institute may offer joint sponsorship of Teaching and Learning speakers and events.
This year, the MacPherson Institute has a pool of up to $10 000* and/or in-kind support for institution-wide Teaching and Learning speakers, events and activities. We can support up to three events with the total pool of funding.
We are particularly interested this year in supporting speakers and events that connect to the Partnered in Teaching and Learning Strategy, as well as speakers from across career stages.
Interested Faculties may submit a proposal to the MacPherson Institute for co-sponsorship or sponsorship of a speaker or event focused on teaching and learning and aligned with the Partnered in Teaching and Learning Strategy.
As we are piloting this process this year, we are circulating this call in February 2023 with a deadline of March 29th for submissions. Events and activities can be scheduled between May 2023 and April 30, 2024.
Proposals are reviewed and selected by the MacPherson Institute’s Director and Associate Directors based on the evaluation criteria and endorsed by the VP Teaching and Learning. Proposals must be approved by a Dean or Associate Dean for consideration.
If the proposal is approved, staff from the MacPherson Institute may be available to provide support for the planning, delivery, and possible follow-up activities for the event (see Proposal Template).
