Call for Nominations: President’s Award for Outstanding Teaching and Learning

Each year, the President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning is presented to individuals from McMaster’s teaching and learning community that demonstrate innovative approaches, excellence in teaching and enrichment of student learning experiences. Learn more about the President’s Award and see a list of past winners on our President’s Award page.

Recipients of the President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning receive:  

• A citation of excellence and memento to be presented at Spring Convocation; 
• An honorarium in the amount of $3,000; 
• An inscription of the recipient’s name on a permanent plaque bearing names of all previous award recipients; 
• An invitation to the annual President’s Retreat; 
• Membership in McMaster’s community of award-winning educators.
  

Up to five awards may be given each year.

We are seeking your help in identifying deserving candidates of this award for 2023.

Please consider individuals from your faculty, department or unit that are well-suited to receive a nomination to ensure we can continue building on McMaster’s incredible history of innovation and excellence in teaching. The call for nominations is now open and the steps to submit are outlined below.

Two-step Nomination Process:

• A nominator (usually but not always the nominee’s chair, director, associate dean, or dean) submits a 1-2 page nomination brief, along with the nominee’s abridged CV. The initial nomination is due January 31, 2023 to mi@mcmaster.ca.
• Shortlisted nominees and their nominators are then invited to develop and submit a full portfolio. The full nomination portfolio is due on 31 March 2023 to mi@mcmaster.ca.
