A meeting hosted by the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Network
Time: Thursday, March 19 from 2:30-3:30pm (with time for mingling until 4pm)

Guest Presenters:
- Dr. Catherine Anderson and student partners Aleema Tahir and Nealob Kakar will discuss research into the lived experiences of equity-seeking students in the Linguistics 2PS3 Active Learning Classroom.
- Dr. Kim Jones will discuss research into the role of identity (gender, language ability, race, etc.) on teamwork in the engineering classroom.
- Plus, a short preview of the new, collaboratively built “Inclusive Teaching” resource page for the McMaster campus and further opportunities for sharing equity/accessibility-focused educational research with colleagues.

Who should attend these Teaching and Learning Network meetings?
- All are welcome to attend, including faculty, sessional instructors, postdoctoral fellows, staff, graduate and undergraduate students.
What is the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Network?
- The SoTL Network brings together members of campus to inquire about, discuss, and reflect upon research into teaching and learning.
- It is chaired by faculty members Drs. Cathy Grise (Department of English and Cultural Studies) and Wendy D’Angelo (Department of Linguistics and Languages) and supported by MacPherson Institute postdoctoral fellows Drs. Alise de Bie (PhD from the School of Social Work / Gender Studies and Feminist Research) and Stine Hansen (PhD from the School of Geography).
What is the Accessibility Teaching and Learning Network?
- The Accessibility TLN will work together to gather and share success stories, challenges and sources of support related to accessibility and equity in teaching and learning.
- The Accessibility TLN is chaired by faculty member Dr. Katie Moisse and instructional assistant Ryan Belowitz (School of Interdisciplinary Science) and supported by MacPherson Institute educational developer Greg Van Gastel and student educational developer Megan Suttie (English and Cultural Studies).
