The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) are the ISO-recognized criteria for creating accessible web content referenced in the AODA information and communications standard. In this workshop, we will review the guidelines relevant to the materials you teach with and discuss how to apply them to create more accessible course content.
Note: the first half hour of the workshop will focus on instructional content and the remainder will be spent working through examples provided by participants and answering questions.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Create web content directly within your Avenue course
- Apply the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) to content creation
- Identify web accessibility errors in your course shell
