There are increasing concerns about inclusion in higher education, and there are sometimes challenges in empathizing with learners who may feel excluded. This webinar aims to explore the values and motivations associated with inclusion and exclusion through discussion activities supported by Miro, a collaborative whiteboard. Participants will be asked to consider ways in which they might support people who want to be included in various situations. Non-academic examples are used so that participants might consider the concepts of inclusion and exclusion from a broad perspective. A concluding reflection is intended to support participants in linking the non-academic situations with the higher education context. While the main aim of the webinar is to address inclusion, it is also intended to offer participants an opportunity to practice using a purposely designed whiteboard.
