The MacPherson Institute is excited to share that the peerScholar pilot project is being extended with funding support from the Digital Learning Strategic Framework. peerScholar is a formative peer-assessment tool that will continue to be available during the 3-year pilot extension for instructors to experiment with in their courses.
To learn more about peerScholar the MacPherson Institute is hosting two upcoming virtual events.
Join Steve Joordens and Dwayne Paré from peerScholar as they explain how the tool enhances learning through peer assessment, fostering critical thinking and self-regulation. They will demonstrate how students submit work, provide peer feedback, and reflect on their learning. They will also highlight the platform’s research-backed benefits, including enhanced inclusion even for neurodiverse students, improved academic performance and heightened student engagement. The webinar emphasizes peerScholar’s flexibility, scalability, and its role in creating active, student-centered learning environments that both students and professors see as extremely valuable as they help students develop the core skills that will bring them success in work and life more generally.
