The MacPherson Institute is excited to share that the peerScholar pilot project is being extended with funding support from the Digital Learning Strategic Framework. peerScholar is a formative peer-assessment tool that will continue to be available during the 3-year pilot extension for instructors to experiment with in their courses.
To learn more about peerScholar the MacPherson Institute is hosting two upcoming virtual events.
Within this workshop Steve Joordens and Dwayne Paré will show how easy it is to create a very rich pedagogical experience for your students using peerScholar. Based on use-cases you imagine using, they will show how to bring those use-cases to life, how to manage an ongoing activity, and the various options around grading and student support. They will also highlight the range of contexts that peerScholar can fit including teamwork-based projects, mentoring and case studies, as well as more typical activities where students work individually off of the same prompt. In addition to the knowledge, this is also a chance to get know Steve and Dwayne, both of whom stand ready and willing to help you as you begin to harness the power peerScholar can bring to your classroom.
