Principles of Community Engagement Module

The Office of Community Engagement is excited to share this new video module on the Principles of Community Engagement. This video is designed to introduce students to each of the six principles before they engage with the community, either in person or virtually, to ensure that they are focused on meeting shared goals.

This video is an introduction to the principles through the lens of the student experience.

The video is 27 minutes long and includes the definition of each principle followed by a short video clip of a student sharing their own experience applying a principle, a quiz to check understanding and a reflection prompt. Students can be assigned all, some or none of the reflections. We are available to collaborate on crafting a more in-depth set of reflection prompts if needed to support the objectives of your course.

Please consider sharing this video with students who will be engaging with the community, so they are aware of the principles and have had a chance to think about them in relation to the work they are undertaking.
