Closing the Feedback Loop

After the conversation, take time to reflect on what students have said and how you will communicate what you heard back to them (e.g., a verbal recap in class, announcement on your Avenue to Learn page, etc.). Identify to students what it is that you will take away from your conversation as their instructor and discuss how student feedback will inform your teaching or course design. Not every conversation will amount to a change in your teaching or course, but because of your dialogue with students, you might consider: 

• Clarifying GenAI expectations in your course policy 
• Revising assignment instructions to clarify permissible/non-permissible GenAI use 
• Engaging students as partners in elements of your course (re)designs 
• Providing students with resources who may be struggling with understanding GenAI 
• Committing to revisit a concern or change later in the term or in a future course
