Year in Review 2023-2024

Dear colleagues and partners, 

As we look back on another year at The Paul R. MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching, we are filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. The Year in Review is an opportunity for us to share our collective achievements with the teaching and learning community and an opportunity to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to enhancing teaching and learning at McMaster. 

Our focus this year has been to continue to foster connections and build partnerships with campus units engaged in teaching and learning work. These collaborations have not only broadened our reach but also enriched the quality of our collective efforts to celebrate teaching as a professional practice at the institution. Every conversation, every workshop, and every project has contributed to enhancing the educational experiences of our instructors and our students at the institution.  

I firmly believe the key to our success is our people. Our team is made up of a group of dedicated experts and professionals that endeavour to unlock the potential of our teaching and learning community at McMaster. The practice of teaching is constantly evolving and so are our approaches to delivering support through professional development opportunities, curriculum development and revision, pedagogical guidance, learning technologies enablement and much more.  

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our campus partners and our community of teaching and learning colleagues as we continue this journey together. Each step we take furthers our goal of cultivating an environment where learning deeply matters, and teaching is not just valued but celebrated.
