Year in Review 2024-2025

Dear colleagues and partners, 

As we reflect on another year at the Paul R. MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching, we are filled with both a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. The Year in Review offers us a chance to share our collective achievements with the teaching and learning community and to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to enhancing teaching and learning at McMaster.  

This year, our focus has been on maintaining or modifying essential supports and services for our teaching and learning community as the post-secondary education sector continues to face financial pressures, and supporting our faculty partners with strategic teaching and learning projects to address the unique needs within their disciplines. While the MacPherson Institute is not immune to the financial challenges being experienced across the sector, we have worked closely with our teaching and learning community to ensure alignment around the supports and services that create meaningful impact.  

We extend our sincere gratitude to our teaching and learning partners across campus, whose collaboration and support serve to inspire and nurture so much of this work. We remain committed to fostering and promoting partnership, which lies at the heart of McMaster’s teaching and learning approach. 

Through meaningful collaboration, McMaster is building a vibrant educational community where learning deeply matters, and teaching is celebrated. The accomplishments outlined in this report would not be possible without the unwavering dedication of our staff, whose contributions are central to advancing excellence in teaching and learning at McMaster.  

We hope this report offers both insight and inspiration as we continue teaching and learning together.
